This was a sweet PG romance with Jayson (an adoption attorney) and Julie (a chocolate shop owner). It was probably about a 3.5 for me but I’m rounding up since Goodreads doesn’t like half stars!

Both main characters are workaholics who are trying to make time for a personal life when they meet. While it take a bit for them to connect they eventually both decide to give the relationship a try despite misgivings .

I’m not a fan of the miscommunication trope used for the source of conflict (especially since I felt there were other sources of conflict present) but overall it was an enjoyable read and a good start to the month!

However, trauma from Jayson's past and Julie's deep-seated trust issues may prove too much for even love to overcome.

This strangers-to-lovers contemporary romance has humor, lots of food and chocolate, unusual dates, and sweet kisses.
