📖 I received a gifted e-book ARC. The following is my honest review✍🏻

The Pick Up is a single POV single-parent fake-dating romance. Sophie is a happily single mother to a little girl who desperately wants her sister to stop setting her up on dates so she can focus on playdates instead. Joe is the widowed father of a little boy who is tired of the Moms at the school pick up fawning all over him. The two hatch a plan to fake date: Joe will help Sophie get an in with the other moms so her daughter is included in more play dates, and Sophie will be a buffer between Joe and weirdly flirtatious sympathy casseroles!

This was a fun and funny PG romance! I liked both Sophie and Joe, and could see where both were coming from. Their obstacles were realistic, personal hang-ups and walls that were built up defensively. This was my first Hannah Doyle book but won’t be my last!

Committing to a fake romance is easy. It’s keeping it fake that’s the problem …

Sophie Rogers finds it easy to focus on the important things in life. Like her daughter, her job and her family.

So when Joe, another single parent at school suggests they fake a romance to help them both out of a fix, she throws herself in.

But then Sophie starts to look forward to seeing Joe. In fact, she’s thinking about his floppy hair, Irish accent and the way his lips felt when they grazed hers (her commitment to this is exceptional) more than their synced calendars and staged socials. And there is a reason the yummy mummies called him Hot Single Dad.

Sophie Rogers isn't silly enough to fall in love with her fake boyfriend.

Is she?
