This was my Book of the Month club pick for October. Technically, this is an add-on, but my main BOTM pick was a book that I read as an ARC and just wanted a physical copy of.
Play Nice is a single POV horror novel. It centers around Clio who, along with her two sisters, inherits a house when their estranged mother passes away. The girls haven’t been back to the house or spoken to their mother since they were children when she, convinced that the house was demonically possessed, lost custody of them. Clio is determined to flip the house, but the more time she spends there, the more she begins to worry her mother might not have been crazy after all.
This was my first book by Rachel Harrison and I really enjoyed it. It had its creepy moments, as any good horror book will, but also had moments of irreverent humor that kept the story going. Fun and a little scary is how I like my horror books so this one was worth the read.
