📖 I received a gifted e-book ARC. The following is my honest review✍🏻
While You Were Skiing is a dual POV fake-dating Holiday romance. When Piper's office crush asks her to pretend to be his girlfriend on a family vacation, she sees it as an opportunity to avoid another lonely Christmas on her own, and maybe even a chance to show him what a good girlfriend she could be. She isn't expecting to meet Mac, his sometimes charming, sometimes grumpy older brother, who just seems to get her. Mac is enamored with Piper and finds himself struggling with some unexpected jealousy towards his younger brother. Feelings are confused, and family is meddling, so it's a perfect Christmas story!
I love the movie While You Were Sleeping, and really enjoyed this cute, kissing-only re-imagining of it. It had a fun fake-dating twist (no one in a coma this time around!) but still all the joy and humor of family shenanigans. A very sweet holiday romance!
She said yes to a fake relationship.
She didn’t expect to fall for the wrong brother.
Piper’s had a crush on her coworker for three years. So when he asks her to join him on his family’s Christmas holiday as his fake girlfriend, she can’t turn down the opportunity to show him how good they’d be together for real. There’s just one tiny problem. She may have oversold her abilities on the slopes. As in, she’s never skied in her life. What’s the worst that could happen?
Mac’s at a crossroads. Should he join his father in the family business or continue flying planes for the Air Force? He doesn’t want to disappoint his family, but does that have to mean giving up his own dreams? And what about the gorgeous girlfriend his younger brother brought on the family vacation and then left to fend for herself? Surely, someone has to make sure she feels welcome.
As Piper gets a glimpse of what a real relationship with her crush would look like, while also spending time with a man who is his complete opposite, she wonders if perhaps she’s hitched herself to the wrong man.
