A Brush with Love is a dual POV friends-to-lovers romance. Harper is top of her class in dental school and is anxiously determined to stay that way. A (literal) run-in with Dan, a first-year student reluctantly stepping into the family business, is a distraction she can’t afford. But Dan is charming and hard to resist, offering friendship when Harper isn’t willing to entertain more, and slowly making her fall in love with him against her best laid plans.

I don’t know how it is that Mazey Eddings always makes me feel so seen, but I loved this! Harper’s description of living with anxiety was very relatable. I loved how she was able to stand up for herself when faced with sexism, and I loved how Dan and her found family helped her learn to be kind to herself when dealing with mental illness. Dan, having to choose between following his passion and family duty, was heartbreaking, but I loved seeing him grow as well.

Harper is anxiously awaiting placement into a top oral surgery residency program when she crashes (literally) into Dan. Harper would rather endure a Novocaine-free root canal than face any distractions, even one this adorable.

A first-year dental student with a family legacy to contend with, Dan doesn’t have the same passion for pulling teeth that Harper does. Though he finds himself falling for her, he is willing to play by Harper’s rules.

So with the greatest of intentions and the poorest of follow-throughs, the two set out to be “just friends.” But as they get to know each other better, Harper fears that trading fillings for feelings may make her lose control and can't risk her carefully ordered life coming undone, no matter how drool-worthy Dan is.

Blood, gore, and extra-long roots? No problem. The idea of falling in love? Torture.
