This was my Book of the Month club pick for March.
And Now, Back to You is a dual POV opposites-attract romance. Jackson, who does the weather report on a local radio station, likes to keep his life structured and organized. He frequently finds himself annoyed and baffled by the always-smiling, chaos-personified Delilah, the meteorologist for the local news station next door. Delilah's boss is slowly pushing her out of weather reporting and into more and more ridiculous assignments, and she's determined to be taken seriously. When a severe weather storm is due to hit, Jackson and Delilah are asked to team up and travel to the mountains, where the worst of it will hit, reporting together for both news and radio broadcasts. Delilah sees an opportunity to prove her worth, Jackson sees a chance to learn to lighten up a little for the sake of his sisters, but neither of them really sees the other coming!
I loved this book so much! I already liked Jackson from First-Time Caller, so I was excited to see him get his own story, and I think this one did a great job representing his anxiety. I loved getting to see more of Delilah, as not just chaotic and cheerful, but also smart, dedicated, and deeply ingrained in her community. I loved how the two of them wanted to take care of each other, and how they fit into each other's lives once the forced-proximity was over. I enjoyed the handful of scenes with Lucie and Aiden, and loved all the side characters (Jackson's sisters, Delilah's researcher friend!). I am hoping there will be a future story for Maggie, because I am definitely not ready to say goodbye to this series and the characters!
Jackson Clark and Delilah Stewart have had their fair share of run-ins over the years, often ending in disaster. While Jackson thrives on routine and organization from the comfort of his radio booth, Delilah loves the spontaneity and adventure out in the field. When they’re partnered against their will to cover the snowstorm of the century, they find themselves scrambling to figure out how to work together.
Eager to be taken seriously as a journalist, Delilah offers Jackson a deal. If he can help her ace this assignment, she’ll help him rediscover his long-lost fun side. With an undiscovered chemistry burning beneath their clashes, the unlikely partnership quickly tumbles into an easy and surprising friendship.
But when other feelings start to enter the equation, can Jackson and Delilah withstand the storm? Or does what happens in the mountains, stay in the mountains?
