Wild Goose Chase is a dual POV opposites attract. Callahan is very proud of the antiques shop he is co-owner of, but when he inadvertently comes into possession of an illegal taxidermy goose, he is risking his professional reputation and the reputation of the shop. When his business partner leaves for a month, sending his niece to help out in the meantime, Cal has to figure out how to run the shop on his own, train his effervescent and inconveniently attractive new co-worker Annie, and figure out how to dispose of the goose without risking professional ruin! Annie is excited to be helping in the shop to get some hands-on practice before she turns her online business into a brick-and-mortar store, but she finds Cal much less welcoming and helpful than she'd hoped. When she stumbles upon the source of his anxiety, she hatches a plan to make him take her more seriously. It's all well and good- until the goose winds up missing, and the two are sent on a wild chase through the city, trying to track it down and restore a sense of order!

Sarah Adler is definitely becoming an auto-buy author for me; I loved this one! I loved that Annie was learning how to be genuine in relationships instead of shrinking herself to be what others needed, and that she wasn’t afraid to call out Cal when he treated her as less than. I related to Cal’s reluctance for change, and his need for a feeling of connection to form attachment; I think there was really well-done Demi rep (though not specifically named). I enjoyed the little glimpses into the past as well!

Unfortunately, Cal is nothing like the charming man she expected. She’s tempted to take his apparent dislike personally, until she stumbles upon the source of his the contraband waterfowl hiding upstairs.

When the goose goes missing, it puts both of their professional reputations on the line. As Cal and Annie attempt to track down the bird before it can be traced back to the store, their tentative alliance turns into something much deeper. Will the hunt for their felonious fowl lead to true love, or end in ruin?
